Kodagu, also known as Coorg, is a rural district in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. The district is spread across an area of 4,102 square kilometers. The best time to visit Kodagu is between October to May and the peak season for this hill station is within February to May. Coorg is the largest producer of Coffee in India. Three wildlife sanctuaries and one reserved forest in Coorg are listed as World Heritage Site, by UNESCO. The popular tourist attractions in Kodagu include Bhagamandala, Talakaveri, Nisargadhama, Dubare, Abbey Falls, Iruppu Falls and Nagarahole National Park & etc.

Golden Temple Coorg
➽ The Golden Temple Coorg‘ is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. The Golden Temple complex is home to about 16000 refugees and 600 monks, The Tiny Tibetan colony in Coorg is an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The enclosed calm and the spiritual ambiance of the place welcomes all the visitors. The Tibetan Monastery is located around 6-km from Kushalnagar.

Talakaveri
➽ Talakaveri or Talacauvery is the place that is generally considered to be the source of the river Kaveri and a holy place for many Hindus. It is an Important religious place. It is the birth place of sacred river Cauvery, 46-kms from Madikeri. River Cauvery is one of the seven sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus belonging to the Hindu scriptures. The place has two temples. One temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has an ancient Shiva Linga. Another temple is of Lord Ganesha.

Omkareshwara Temple
➽ Omkareshwara temple was built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra as a dedication to Lord Shiva. This temple has a unique architecture and the temple is built in Islamic style, the dome and minarets towering over the tiled roofs of the city. It is a popular religious destination of Coorg. The temple draws a large number of tourists and devotees regularly. A water tank in this temple houses many freshwater fish and adds to the beauty of this temple.

Iruppu falls
➽ The Irupu Falls are located in the Brahmagiri Range in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, India. falling from a height of 170 feet, is famous for its scenic beauty and also mythological importance and is a popular tourist spot. Iruppu falls bordering the Wayanad district of Kerala. It is a fresh water cascade and is situated at a distance of 48 km from Virajpet on the highway to Nagarhole

Madikeri Fort
➽ Madikeri Fort also called Mercara Fort is a fort in Madikeri, in the Kodagu district of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is first built by Mudduraja in the second half of the 17-th century. Madikeri Fort is one of the interesting places for sightseeing in Coorg & it is a unique fort that houses among other structures a temple, an Anglican Church, a prison and a museum.

Mallalli falls
➽ Mallalli Falls is a stunning milky white waterfall that lies in the northern region of the Kodagu district in Karnataka. The Kumaradhara River is the main watercourse for this waterfall. The Kumaradhara later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati River at Uppinangadi, which then empties into the Arabian Sea at Mangalore.

Raja seat
➽ Raja seat is one of the popular tourist spots, Raja seat literally means “Seat of the Kings”. Located in the heart of Madekari town. It was once the platform from which the kings of Kodagu used to enjoy glorious sunsets & It is fascinating to watch the road to Mangalore like a curved ribbon lying in the valley. Early morning and evening view from this place is really breathtaking.

Those who are travelling from mysore to madikkery can visit this place.

Abbey falls
➽ Abbey Falls is a waterfall in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats of Karnataka & it is located 10-kms away from the town of Madikeri. This falls is surrounded by rich flora and sprawling coffee and spice plantations & falls from a height of over 70 feet, into a deep gorge.

Nagarahole national park
